Hey Folks, Ok, it's official, 2006 has flown by!
Already half-way through September, and a ton has been going on.
I've had a really busy year - some highlights:
Studio: I recently played bass on the score and soundtrack for Ridley Scott's new film, "American Gangster" starring Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe to be released in November 2007. I've had the good fortune to play on a bunch of great soon to be released recordings including Metal Messiah (Razor and Tie), Brandi Shearer (Amoeba), Debbie Deane (RKM Records), Joy Askew, Hope Nunnery, Greg Tannen, Pete & Jay, Dan Stein, Allison Cornell, and K.J. Denhert.
Live: it's been pretty packed with fun gigs and some truly great artists. I've had the pleasure and good fortune of playing with the great Jim Campilongo as part of his 'Superfine' trio along with NYC's funkiest on drums - Tony Mason. Just returned from San Francisco where we played the Great American Music Hall to celebrate the release of Jim's new album 'Heaven is Creepy'... a great show to a packed house. Pete Anderson sat in on guitar, and the audience included many San Francisco luminaries including one of my heroes, Zigaboo Modelieste.
Chiara Civello is currently showcasing a new set of really beautiful songs and as always sounds amazing.
In the last couple of months I've also had the pleasure of working with legend Danny Kortchmar in his band Midnight 11. I've had a ton of fun as a member of Saul Zonana's new project which includes Andrew Carillo and Aaron Comess - fun band, great songs.
On the Touring Front: The East Village Opera Company is about to head out for a Fall Tour during October and November. We'll be hitting the States, Mexico and Canada. Promises to be a blast.
